About the Author

J M Ecclestone is the author of the Fate, Chance & Happenstance trilogy — a dark, emotionally fearless exploration of trauma, love, obsession, and the consequences that echo across a lifetime.

Born and raised in Oxford before moving to London, James studied Business Management at Westminster University and built a career in customer service and the UK luxury hospitality sector. His professional life placed him at the heart of human behaviour — personalities, tensions, relationships, and the quiet everyday moments that reveal who people really are. These insights became the foundation of his deeply character-driven fiction.

James still works part-time in hotel management, sharing his days between writing and family life. He lives in Barnet, North London with his partner and their son.

Away from work and writing, James spends much of his time in the garden, where he grows an abundant variety of fruit and vegetables. The peace and rhythm of gardening have become the backdrop to where much of his creative thinking takes place.

Fate, Chance & Happenstance is his debut trilogy — a story that began as a personal exploration and evolved into a sweeping saga of intertwined lives, impossible choices, and the darkness and hope at the core of human nature
